- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. paprika
- 2 tsp. dry mustard
- 4 lb. hamburger meat
- 1/3 c. oil
- 6 stalks celery, cut in 1/2
- 1 c. water
- 1/3 c. vinegar
- 3 bay leaves
- 20 peppercorns
- 2 tsp. caraway seed
- 3 medium onions, cut in 1/2
- 4 large carrots, cut in 1/2
Directions

1Combine flour, salt, paprika, and mustard.

2Roll meat in flour mixture.

3Brown meat slowly in hot oil.

4Sprinkle remaining flour mixture over meat.

5Add remaining ingredients.

6Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

7Then remove vegetables and bay leaf. Pack meat into jars, leaving 1/2 inch headspace.

8Cover with sauce, 1 pint 1 hour, 1 quart 1 hour and 15 minutes at 10 pounds pressure.
