  • 3 lb. beef chuck, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 4 medium onions, finely chopped
  • 1/4 c. tomato paste
  • 1/4 c. chopped parsley
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. dried thyme leaves
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 small bay leaf
  • 1 1/2 c. water
