Ingredients

  • 3 onions, sliced
  • 1/3 c. oil
  • 3 lb. boneless beef chuck, cubed
  • 2 Tbsp. paprika
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 c. sour cream (if desired)

Directions

    In Dutch oven, cook onions in oil until tender.

    Remove and reserve.

    Combine paprika, salt and pepper and coat meat with these.

    Brown meat in onion drippings.

    Return onions to pot. Stir in tomato paste, water, garlic and remaining salt.

    Simmer 1 to 2 hours or until tender.

    If too thick, add more water. Garnish with sour cream.

    Serves 6 to 8.
