  • 2 large (1 lb. 13 oz.) cans hominy
  • 1 (4 oz.) can green chilies, minced
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • butter
  • sour cream
  • 1/2 c. heavy cream
  • 1 c. grated Monterey Jack cheese

    Drain and rinse the hominy.

    Generously butter a 3-quart casserole.

    Layer the ingredients in this order: hominy, green chilies, salt, pepper, sour cream, butter.

    Repeat the layers ending with a layer of hominy.

    Dot the top with butter and pour cream over all.

    Sprinkle with cheese.

    Bake 15 to 30 minutes at 350°.
