- 12 egg whites
- 12 egg yolks
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 quarts brandy
- 1 pint dark rum
- 1 quart milk
- 1 quart heavy cream (lightly whipped)
- Garnish: nutmeg, grated, to taste
Directions

1Beat the whites until stiff.

2Put aside.

3Beat the yolks until they are light.

4Add gradually the sugar and beat the mixture until it is thick and pale.

5Chill the mixture.

6Beat in slowly the brandy and the rum.

7Add in the milk and the cream, beating constantly with a wire whisk.

8Fold in the egg whites and sprinkle the surface of the punch with the nutmeg for garnish.
