Governor'S Salad

Ingredients

  • lettuce
  • 1/2 c. grated onion
  • 1/2 c. diced celery
  • 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas
  • 3/4 c. sour cream
  • 3/4 c. mayonnaise or Miracle Whip
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 lb. shredded cheese
  • 8 slices bacon, fried crisp

Directions

    In a 9 x 13-inch pan, layer lettuce.

    Mix onion, celery and green pepper.

    Put on top of lettuce.

    Pour boiling water over peas to thaw, but not cook.

    Drain and cool.

    Place on layer 2. Combine sour cream and mayonnaise; sprinkle sugar over top of salad dressing.

    Sprinkle cheese and bacon.

    Crumble; cover and refrigerate 24 hours.
