- 1 pkg. yeast
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1/4 c. baking molasses
- 3 1/2 c. graham flour
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 c. milk (scalded)
- 3 c. white flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Thoroughly blend shortening, sugar, salt, molasses, milk and graham flour; cool.

3Stir in egg and yeast; add white flour to make a stiff dough.

4Let rise 1 hour or until doubled.

5Knead well on a lightly floured surface.

6Place in a greased bowl; turn to grease top.

7Let rise until doubled. Shape into loaves; place in well-greased loaf pans.

8Let rise until doubled.

9Bake at 350° for 1 hour.

10Remove from pans and cool.
