Ingredients
- 1 c. cake flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. butter or shortening
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs, separated
- 1 c. milk
- 15 graham crackers, rolled fine (about 1 1/8 c.)
Directions

1Sift flour, measure and resift 3 times with baking powder and salt.

2Cream butter.

3Add sugar gradually and beat until soft and smooth.

4Add vanilla and egg yolks one at a time and beat until fluffy and light.

5Add milk and flour mixture alternately, beginning and ending with the flour, and stir well after each addition.

6Fold in graham cracker crumbs and stiffly beaten egg whites alternately.

7Pour batter into two 8-inch layer pans with bottoms lined with thin plain paper and bake in a 350° oven about 25 minutes or until frosting tests done.

8Good with peanut butter frosting.
