  • 1 c. flour
  • 3/4 c. whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1/3 c. melted butter or margarine

Directions

    Mix flour, sugar, salt, baking soda and baking powder together.

    With a fork, beat together egg, buttermilk and butter. Pour all at once into flour mixture.

    Stirring as little as possible, moisten the flour.

    Batter is not smooth.

    Bake in muffin pans at 400° for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
