Grandma'S Bean Soup

Ingredients
- 1 lb. navy or pinto beans (we like pinto)
- 1 1/2 to 2 lb. smoked ham hocks
- 2 qt. water
- 1/3 c. catsup
- 1/4 c. vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 c. diced onions
- 1 c. diced carrots
- 1 c. diced potatoes
Directions

1Soak beans overnight, then drain.

2Cook everything except carrots and potatoes.

3After bringing to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for about 3 hours.

4Put carrots and potatoes in about 1 hour before beans are done.

5Remove meat from bones and return to soup. Think of me and enjoy.

6Makes 4 to 6 servings.
