- 1 c. milk, scalded and cooled
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 2/3 c. sugar
- lukewarm water and sugar
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 5 c. flour (more or less)
