Ingredients
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 c. lukewarm water
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1/4 c. plus 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 1/2 c. flour
Directions

1Cream sugar and shortening in mixing bowl.

2Dissolve yeast in water and add to mixture.

3Add salt and flour.

4Mix well.

5Cover bowl and let set until dough is about double in size (takes about 1 1/2 to 2 hours).

6Put out on floured surface and knead for about 2 minutes.

7Let set again until double in size (1 1/2 to 2 hours). Roll into small balls about the size of a walnut.

8Put 3 of these in each cup of greased cupcake pan.

9Let rise again until about double in size.

10Bake at 400° until golden brown.
