Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup, light
  • 1/2 cup margarine melted
  • 23 cups peanut butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups oats, quick cooking can substitute half oats and half crisped rice
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 cup coconut
  • 13 cup wheat germ
  • 1/2 cup raisins, seedless
  • 1 cup carob chips
  • 1 x nuts or dried fruits you want to add

    *You may substitute 1 1/2 cup crisped rice for 1 1/2 cup of the oats.

    Preheat the oven to 350F (180C).

    Coat the inside of a glass 9x12 inch baking dish with light vegetable oil.

    In a large bowl, combine the sugar, corn syrup, vegetable margarine, peanut butter and vanilla extract, and stir well to the consistency of a paste.

    Stir in remaining ingredients and work the mixture so that several large clumps adhere together.

    Using your fingers, press the mixture into the baking dish.

    Bake at 350F (180C) for 15 to 20 minutes until the preparation turns golden brown.

    Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
