Grape Leaf Rolls

- 100 grape leaves
- 1 c. rice (uncooked)
- 1 1/2 lb. lamb/beef, coarsely chopped
- pepper, cinnamon and allspice to taste
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 2 lemons
Directions

1Wash grape leaves; wash and drain rice.

2Mix rice, lamb, spices and juice of one lemon.

3Place about 1 tablespoon meat mixture on veined side of each grape leaf.

4Spread across in a line; turn in the side ends and roll up completely.

5Line bottom of pan with 3 or 4 grape leaves on pan rack.

6Place evenly in rows in layers, crisscrossing each layer.

7Use an inverted plate to hold down rolls.

8Add water to cover.

9Bring to boil; reduce to low heat and cook 20 to 30 minutes.

10Add juice of 1 lemon five minutes before removing from heat.

11Can be served with yogurt or sour cream.
