Grated Corn Bread

  • 5 ears corn (almost hard)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 tsp. bacon drippings
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. milk

Directions

    Cut corn from cob and scrape cob or grate corn.

    Mix flour, salt and baking powder.

    Add grated corn and bacon drippings.

    Add enough milk to make a good batter.

    Mix well and pour into a greased iron skillet (hot).

    Bake at 425° until golden brown. Good with cow butter.
