Great Maple Syrup Nut Cake

  • 1 (18 ounce) pkge. yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 13 cup softened butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 12 cup maple syrup
  • 12 cup chopped toasted pecans
  • frosting
  • 1 12 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons softened butter
  • 1 12 ounces half of a 3 oz pkge. . softened cream cheese
  • 3 -4 tablespoons maple syrup

    In a large bowl, beat all cake ingredients, except nuts, with electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds.

    Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes .Fold in pecans.

    Pour into a greased and floured Bundt pan.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes.

    Cool 15 minutes.

    Remove from pan to cooling rack.

    Frosting:.

    In a large bowl, beat powdered sugar, 3 tbsps.

    butter, the cream cheese and 3 tbsps.

    Beat in enough of the remaining syrup to make a smooth, soft frosting that will flow down the sides of cake.
