- 1 c. boiling water
- 1 tsp. butter or margarine
- 2 (8 oz.) pkg. instant grits
- 1 egg
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- fine cracker meal
Directions

1Pour water over butter and instant grits in 9-inch loaf pan, stirring to blend well.

2Cover; chill until firm.

3Cut chilled grits in 4 pieces.

4Coat each with all-purpose flour.

5Beat together the eggs and milk.

6Dip each grits piece into egg mixture; roll in cracker meal.

7Fry in skillet until golden brown. Serve with syrup.
