- 3 large ripe avocados
- Juice of 1 lime
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 cup minced red onion
- 1/2 serrano chile, minced
- 1 cup diced tomato
Directions

1Cut the avocados in half and remove the pit.

2Scoop the flesh into a large bowl and mash.

3Add lime juice so the avocados do not turn brown.

4Add the cilantro, cayenne, red onion, chile and tomato.

5Gently fold the ingredients together until well mixed.

6Place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, or until ready to serve.

7(Omit the cayenne and chile for a less spicy version.)
