- 3 Tbsp. margarine
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 c. milk
- 1/4 c. mayonnaise
- 2 c. diced, cooked ham
- 2 pkg. (10 oz. each) asparagus
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 baked 9-inch pastry shell
- 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
Directions

1Melt margarine in a saucepan over medium heat.

2Stir in next 3 ingredients.

3Remove from heat.

4Gradually stir in milk until smooth.

5Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until sauce comes to a boil.

6Boil for 1 minute.

7Stir small amount of hot mixture into mayonnaise; then stir into hot mixture in saucepan. Add ham, asparagus and lemon juice.

8Cook until heated.

9Turn into a pastry shell.

10Sprinkle with cheese.

11Broil about 2 minutes, or until lightly browned.
