Ham-Potato Chowder

Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1 c. diced celery
- 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
- 2 c. diced, cooked ham (about 1 lb.)
- 2 c. diced potatoes
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- 2 c. water
- 2 c. milk or less
- 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes, drained and cut up
Directions

1Melt butter in large kettle.

2Add onion, celery, garlic salt and ham.

3Cook until onion and celery are tender, but not browned. Add potatoes, salt, chili powder and water.

4Simmer until potatoes are tender.

5Add milk and tomatoes.

6Heat, but do not boil.

7A little less milk might be preferred.

8Serves 6.
