- 2 cups flour, all-purpose
- 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons sugar granulated
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
- 2 teaspoons caraway seeds
- 1 each eggs well-beaten
- 2 1/2 cups ham cooked
- 2 tablespoons parsley leaves chopped
- 1 tablespoon horseradish
- 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
- 18 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons flour, all-purpose
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
- 2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
Directions

1Preheat oven to 425F (220C).

2TO MAKE DOUGH Sift together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in a mixing bowl.

3Cut in shortening until particles are fine.

4Stir in caraway seeds.

5Add egg/milk mixture to dry ingredients all at once; stir until dough clings together.

6Knead 10 strokes on floured surface.

7Roll out to a 12-by-10-inch rectangle.

8Combine egg, ground ham, onion, chopped parsley, horseradish, mustard and cayenne; mix well.

9Spread over dough.

10Roll up as for jellyroll, starting with 12-inch side; cut into 8 slices.

11Place cut-side down on ungreased baking sheet.

12Bake 20 to 25 minutes.

13Serve hot with Cheese Sauce.

14Garnish with parsley sprigs.

15TO MAKE SAUCE Melt butter in saucepan over low heat.

16Blend in flour.

17Gradually add milk; cook, stirring constantly, until thick.

18Add cheese, Worcestershire sauce and salt to taste; cook until cheese melts.
