- 4 cups water
- 1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes (undrained)
- 3 cups cabbage (shredded)
- 2 cups cooked ham (diced)
- 3 carrots (sliced)
- 1 1/2 cups celery (chopped)
- 3/4 cup onion (chopped)
- 1/2 cup bell pepper (chopped)
- 1 (16 ounce) can beans, of, your, choice (drained)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 bay leaves
Directions

1In large soup kettle, combine all ingredients.

2Bring to a boil.

3Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1-1/4 hours.

4Discard bay leaves and serve hot (Add cooked pasta, if you wish).
