  • 2 c. self-rising flour
  • 2 Tbsp. Crisco
  • 3/4 c. buttermilk

Directions

    Sift flour; cut in shortening and add milk slowly, stirring until dough is soft and moist.

    Knead lightly.

    May be patted out 1/2 inch thick and cut with a cutter or pinch off balls of dough and roll in hand; flatten as you place in pan.

    Bake at 450° for 15 to 20 minutes or until light golden brown.
