- 4 c. self-rising flour
- 1/2 c. plus 1 tsp. shortening
- 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/3 c. sugar
Directions

1Mix yeast and warm water; let stand 1 minute.
