- 1/4 c. beet liquid from can
- 1/3 c. brown sugar
- 1/4 c. vinegar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- few grains pepper
- 1/8 tsp. cloves
- 1 (No. 2) can (2 1/2 c.) sliced beets
Directions

1Melt butter and add flour.

3Add beet liquid.

4Cook until thickened, stirring constantly.

5Add brown sugar, vinegar, salt, pepper and cloves.

6Stir until sugar dissolves.

7Drain beets and add.

8Heat thoroughly.
