- 4 ounces softened cream cheese
- 14 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 12 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 14 cup finely ground roasted hazelnuts
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate bit
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 34 cup flour
- 2 tablespoons cocoa
- 12 teaspoon baking powder
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 34 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 12 cup coarsely chopped roasted hazelnuts
Directions

1For cream cheese filling, combine cream cheese and sugar in a mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer until smooth.

2Add egg, lemon juice, and vanilla and continue beating until well mixed.

3Use a spatula to fold in hazelnuts.

4Cover and refrigerate.

5For brownie batter, melt chocolate morsels and butter in the top of a double boiler over simmering water over medium heat.

6Remove from heat and set aside.

7Sift together flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.

8Set aside.

9Preheat oven to 350*F.

10Combine sugar, eggs and vanilla in a large micing bowl and beat with an electric mixer until smooth and lemon coloured, about 2 minutes.

11Beat in melted cooled chocolate mixture, then add flour mixture and continue beating until mixture is smooth.

12Fold in hazelnuts with a spatula.

13Spread half the chocolate batter into an 8 inch square pan.

14Spread cream cheese filling over chocolate.

15Gently spread remaining brownie batter over cream cheese layer.

16Pull a spatula through layers to create a marbelized effect.

17Bake for about 40 minutes.

18Allow to cool before cutting into 2 inch squares.
