- 1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. soft margarine or butter blend
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 4 eggs
- 2 1/4 c. ground hazelnuts
- 1 2/3 c. self-rising flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 Tbsp. brandy
- powdered sugar (for dusting)
Directions

1Grease a 9 1/4 x 5 1/4-inch loaf pan.

2Preheat oven to 350°. In large bowl, beat margarine, sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy.

3Beat in eggs, one at a time.

4Add hazelnuts.

5Sift flour and baking powder together.

6Fold into mixture; mix thoroughly. Stir in brandy.

7Put batter into the greased loaf pan.

8Bake 1 to 1 1/4 hours or test with a wooden pick.

9Remove from pan and cool. Sift powdered sugar over cooled cake.
