- 2 c. sugar
- 1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 3/4 c. cocoa
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. boiling water
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

3In large mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients.

4Add buttermilk, eggs, oil and vanilla; beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.

5Remove from mixer.

6Stir in boiling water.

7Pour into prepared pans.

8Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool 10 to 12 minutes.

9Remove from pans to wire rack.

10Cool completely.

11Frost with Peanut Butter Frosting.
