- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 4 eggs, separated
- 3 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 pt. whipped cream
Directions

1Sift sugar and cream of tartar.

2Beat egg whites until stiff and add sugar mix.

3Use this meringue to line a well-greased pie pan.

4Hollow out the center.

5Bake 1 hour at 275°.

6Next, beat egg yolks, lemon juice, peel and salt.

7Cook until thick, then cool it.

8Combine with half of whipped cream and fill pie meringue. Chill for 24 hours.

9When meringue comes from oven, it will fall. Doesn't matter filling will cover it.
