Ingredients
- 1 c. hot water
- 1 pkg. dry yeast (2 tbsp.)
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoon sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon thyme
- 3/4 teaspoon dill
- 1/2 teaspoon rosemary
- 1 tbsp. soft shortening
- 3 c. flour
- Poppy seeds for top
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in water.

2Mix salt, sugar, herbs and shortening.

3Finely shop or possibly grind herbs before adding.

4Blend in 1/2 c. flour.

5Add in remaining flour as needed to create a soft dough.

6Let rise 1 1/2 hrs.

7Form into 18 inch roll.

8Let rise 1 hour.

9Brush with water.
-
10Sprinkle seeds on top.

11Bake at 425 degrees for 20 to 30 min.

12Note: Exceptionally delicious served with warm soup!
