  • 1 lb. fresh green beans
  • 2 c. water
  • 1/2 tsp. basil
  • 1/2 tsp. marjoram
  • 1/2 tsp. chervil
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh snipped parsley
  • 2 tsp. fresh chives or 1 tsp. dried
  • 1/8 tsp. savory
  • 1/8 tsp. thyme
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 1/2 tsp. sunflower seeds (optional)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

Directions

    Cook beans in 2 cups boiling water for 10 to 15 minutes, covered, until tender-crisp.

    Combine herbs in a small bowl.

    Saute chopped onions and garlic in oil, adding herbs, then sunflower seeds.

    Add to cooked beans.

    Season to taste and toss lightly. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
