- 16 thin slices white bread (Pepperidge Farm)
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 tsp. savory
- 1/2 tsp. fennel seed, crushed

1About 20 minutes before serving or early in day:

2With knife, cut off crusts from bread slices.

3(Reserve crusts for making bread crumbs for another day.)

4Arrange bread slices on cookie sheets.

5Preheat oven to 400°.

6In small saucepan over medium heat, heat butter or margarine, savory and fennel seed until butter melts.

7Brush bread slices with butter mixture; bake 15 minutes or until golden on both sides, turning bread slices once. Makes 8 servings.
