Ingredients

  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 2 1/2 c. plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp. soda (mix with flour)
  • 6 small plain chocolate bars
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 large can chocolate syrup
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 eggs

Directions

    Melt chocolate bars in the chocolate syrup in double boiler. Cream sugar and margarine.

    Add eggs, one at a time.

    Add melted chocolate, then flour and milk alternately.

    Bake 1 1/2 hours in a tube pan or Bundt pan, which has been lightly greased and floured, at 300°.

    Test with toothpick to determine when done.

    Use chocolate icing or lightly sprinkle with powdered sugar.
