- 1/4 c. butter
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 c. Hershey's cocoa
- 1 3/4 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 3/4 c. milk
Directions

1Generously grease and flour 2 (9-inch) round cake pans.

2Cream butter, shortening, sugar and vanilla until fluffy.

3Blend in eggs.

4Combine cocoa, flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in bowl; add alternately with milk to batter.

5Blend well.

6Pour into pans.

7Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes, or until cake tester comes out clean.

8Cool 10 minutes.

9Remove from pans; frost with your favorite frosting.
