- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. butter or lard
- 4 eggs
- 1 c. milk
- 3 c. flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- pinch of salt
- 1 or 2 c. nuts
Directions

1Cream shortening and sugar together.

2Add eggs; beat well, then add milk and vanilla.

3Sift dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture.

4Stir in chopped nuts.

5Makes 3 layers or 1 pan regular cake pan.

6Bake at 350°.

7This cake has more flavor if baked 1 day before eating.
