- 2 C. self-rising flour
- 3 Tbsp. shortening
- 2/3 c. milk
Directions

1Cut shortening into flour and add milk, a little at a time. Work dough with a heavy spoon.

2Roll dough about 1/3 of an inch thick and place on a cookie sheet.

3Mark 2 inch squares for lazy biscuits or leave plain for hoe cake.

4Bake in a 450° oven about 10 minutes or until brown.
