- 4 medium yams, peeled
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 4 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 2 Tbsp. sugar (optional)
Directions

1Slice yams 1-inch thick.

2Combine water and salt; soak yam slices for 20 minutes.

3Remove from water; pat dry.

4Melt butter in large frypan until bubbly.

5Add yams; brown both sides.

6Sprinkle with sugar.

7Cover with lid; reduce heat to low; simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or until tender.
