- 2 c. flour
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 2/3 to 3/4 c. milk or buttermilk
Directions

1Heat oven to 500°.

2Measure flour into a bowl by spooning into measuring cup and leveling off.

3Cut in shortening until like coarse crumbs.

4Blend in just enough milk with a fork until dough leaves sides of bowl.

5Knead gently on lightly floured surface 10 to 12 strokes.

6Roll dough about 1/2-inch thick.

7Cut without twisting cutter.

8Bake on ungreased baking sheet.

9Makes about 12 (2-inch) biscuits.
