Ingredients
- 2 c. warm water
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 6 c. flour, sifted
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water; add sugar, salt, shortening and stir until sugar and salt are dissolved.

2Stir in flour and mix until all is well blended.

3Turn out on a floured surface and knead well, about 5 minutes.

4Place in a greased pan, covered with a cloth, for 1 hour over a pan of warm (not hot) water and let rise until double in bulk.

5Knead down again; place over warm water again for about 30 minutes.

6Mold into desired shape.

7Let rise for about 45 minutes.

8Bake at 350° for about 30 minutes or until done. Yields about 24 large or 36 small rolls or 2 loaves.
