Ingredients
- 2 c. warm water
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 6 1/2 to 7 c. flour
- 1/4 c. soft shortening
Directions

1In mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Add sugar, salt and half of flour.

3Beat thoroughly for 2 minutes.

4Add egg and shortening.

5Mix in remaining flour with fork until dough is easy to handle.

6Place greased side up in a greased bowl.

7Cover bowl. Place in refrigerator.

8Punch down occasionally as dough rises. About 2 hours before needed, cut off amount needed and return rest of dough to refrigerator.

9Shape while cold into rolls.

10Cover. Let rise until doubled in size (1 1/2 to 2 hours).
