Ingredients
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 2 Tbsp. warm water (105~ to 115~)
- 5 c. plain flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 3 Tbsp. honey
- Honey Butter (recipe follows)
Directions

1Combine yeast and warm water.

2Let set 5 minutes.

3Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt in large bowl.

4Cut in shortening with pastry blender until crumbly.

5Combine yeast mixture, buttermilk and honey.

6Add to dry ingredients.

7Stir just until moistened.

8Turn out on floured surface.

9Knead for 1 minute. Roll out to 1/2-inch thick.

10Cut with 2-inch cutter.

11Place on ungreased baking sheets.

12Bake at 400° for 10 minutes or until golden.

13Makes 4 dozen 2-inch biscuits.

14Serve with Honey Butter.
