Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour, sifted
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 c. honey
  • 3/4 c. Crisco oil
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 1/2 c. pecans, finely chopped (if desired, more can be used)

Directions

    Mix sugar, flour, soda and cinnamon; add honey, oil, egg and chopped nuts.

    Mix with an electric beater only until ingredients are blended.

    Press down in greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan or 9 x 9-inch pan, depending on how thick you want your bars.

    Bake at 350° for 20 minutes, no longer, they will be too hard.

    While cake is still hot, mix glaze and spread on bars.
