- 1 (9-inch) double crust
- 4 c. gooseberries
- 1 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. minute tapioca
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Directions

1Wash berries and remove stems.

2Pat dry.

3Place berries, sugar, tapioca, butter, salt and nutmeg in a large saucepan over low heat.

4Stir frequently and cook until sugar is melted and berries are soft.

5Let cool.

6Pour into pie shell and cover with top crust.

7Make 5 to 6 slashes in top crust.

8Bake at 400° for 15 minutes.

9Reduce heat to 350° for 30 minutes longer.
