- 1 cup dried black-eyed peas
- 1 ham hock
- 1 12 cups chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
- 3 green onions, chopped with greens
- 1 celery rib, chopped
- 1 leaf green chard leaves, chopped
- 12 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes
Directions

1Rinse and sort peas.

2Soak in 3 cups of water overnight.

3Strain and rinse in the morning.

4Place in crock pot along with the rest of the ingredients.

5If you are in a hurry, cook on high for 3 hours.

6Or you can cook for 6-8 on Low.

7Take out the ham hock, and cut away the meat, discarding the fatty parts, and the bone.

8Replace meat into crock pot.

9Stir.

10Serve.
