  • 3 qt. boiling water
  • 1 qt. loosely packed horehound (leaves and stems)
  • 4 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. dark corn syrup
  • 1 Tbsp. butter

    Pour boiling water over horehound.

    Steep for 5 minutes.

    Tea should be dark and bitter, but not black.

    Strain.
