Hot Fruit Compote

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz.) can pineapple slices, cut in pieces
  • 1 (16 oz.) can apricot halves
  • 1 (11 oz.) pkg. mixed dried fruit
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 12 whole cloves
  • 3/4 c. bourbon
  • 1 (1 lb.) can peach slices, drained
  • 1 (1 lb.) can pitted cherries, drained
  • 1 c. seedless green grapes (canned)

Directions

    Drain pineapple and apricots, reserving syrups.

    Place dried fruit in large saucepan; add syrups, cinnamon sticks, cloves and bourbon.

    Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    Add pineapple, apricots, cherries and grapes, then simmer five more minutes.

    Serve warm as accompaniment to ham or poultry.

    Serves 12; any leftovers will be delicious served hot or cold over vanilla ice cream.
