Ingredients
- 1 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1/2 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. shortening, melted
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/4 c. cocoa
- 1 3/4 c. hot water
Directions

1Combine first five ingredients.

2Stir in milk and shortening. Blend in nuts.

3Spread in 9-inch square pan.

4Sprinkle with mixture of brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa.

5Pour hot water over entire batter.

6Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.

7During baking the cake mixture rises to the top and chocolate sauce settles to the bottom.

8Invert squares of pudding on dessert plates.

9Dip sauce from pan over each piece.

10Best served warm, but is good cold too. Can put Cool Whip on top.
