Ingredients

  • 2 qt. water
  • 1 qt. white vinegar
  • 1 c. ice cream salt
  • 3 or 4 garlic buds (each jar)
  • 1 tsp. dill seed (each jar)
  • 1 or 2 pods hot peppers (each jar)
  • 1 tsp. fresh or dehydrated dill (each jar)
  • fresh cucumbers
  • pinch of alum (each jar)

Directions

    Wash and drain cucumbers; slice into spears.

    In quart jar, put garlic, dil seed, pepper, alum, dill and cucumbers.

    Boil water, vinegar and salt together.

    Pour into each jar and seal.
