- 2 c. sifted Martha White self-rising flour
- 1/4 c. shortening
- about 3/4 c. milk
Directions

1Heat oven to 450°.

2Cut shortening into flour until particles are like fine crumbs.

3Add milk and stir with a fork only until dough leaves the side of the bowl.

4Turn dough out onto lightly floured board or pastry cloth; knead just until smooth.

5Roll dough out about 1/2-inch thick and cut with floured cutter.

6Place on lightly greased baking sheet.

7Bake 10 to 12 minutes.

8Makes 12 to 14 (2-inch) biscuits.
