Ingredients
- 2 1/2 c. scalded milk (set to cool)
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 4 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 6 to 7 c. flour (about)
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/4 c. warm water and 1 tsp. sugar
Directions

1Prepare yeast and set aside to double.

2Add all ingredients to cool milk and mix well.

3Add yeast mixture and mix.

4Pour out on well floured board.

5Knead well (about 8 minutes).

6Place in well-greased bowl and pat the top of the dough with shortening. Cover; let rise 1 hour and 15 minutes in a warm place until double.

7Knead down and make into rolls.

8Cover and let rise about 1 hour.

9Bake in hot oven (375°) for 18 to 20 minutes.

10Serve with butter while hot.

11Makes about 4 dozen.
